The antibacterial effect of silver has been known for 3000 years. Alape uses the positive properties of the precious metal and mixes silver into the glaze of the white washbasins and washstands, which is inseparably embedded in the surface of the steel products during the glaze firing process. This combination creates a bactericidal and fungicidal surface that rids itself of bacteria and fungi over time. Long-lasting protection, without any harmful effects on the body or the environment.

Scientific studies by the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute in Utrecht, the Netherlands, have proven that the “ProShield” surface prevents the growth of tested bacteria and fungi in the bathroom by up to 99% over time.
The antibacterial effect of the “ProShield” surface finish does not wear off and retains its effectiveness in the fight against bacteria and fungi over time.
The silver particles bound in the glaze are permanently embedded in the material matrix and are not released to humans or the environment.
